Bonterra Zinfandel Organic Grapes 2008
We've been farming organically since 1987. Because it's our belief that organic grapes make better wine.
Aromas of plum, red fruit, vanilla, and a hint of bell pepper on the nose. Smooth and silky mouth feel. This is a young Mendocino County big red. Hotness and astringency (especially on the aftertaste) may decline if it's allowed to age more (this seemed to happen with older vintages (2005 and 2006).
A deep, dark red with notes of pepper , vanilla, and plum. Noticeably flat finish.
This organic wine is garnet black in colour with deep intensity. Ripe red fruit, spice and vanilla on the nose. Well-balanced with soft ripe tannins. The flavours echo the nose. The finish lingers.
We liked this a lot
I have had better and worse. Middle of the road. Easy drinking for sure. Good to pour a glass and just shoot the breeze with someone. Doesn't need food really. Cheers.
Maybe I got a bad bottle, but this is not a 92 point wine (82 maybe). Definitely not a wine to age.
