From the Fetzer family, this Cabernet is produced from organically grown grapes. Rich plum and berry balanced by American and French oak creates a full-bodied wine that would complement a side of beef.
Supple, elegant and polished, delivering ripe, fleshy plum, black cherry, mineral, spice and light cedary oak flavors that are well-proportioned, gaining length. Drink now through 2011.
Forward black cherry and plum aromas fill out the nose with hints of chocolate and spice. The wine offers a nice, full mouth with elegant blackberry flavors, ripe tannins and a lingering finish.
Winemaker Notes - Cabernet Sauvignon is known for creating wines of amazing density and complexity with both concentrated and nuanced avors. In making Bonterra Cabernet Sauvignon, I like to add to these layers of avor by blending in small amounts of other red varietals to add color, texture, and a bit of spice. Varieties and vineyard lots are kept separate until the best lots are blended together to create the nal wine. is Cabernet o ers aromas of bright cherry, currant, and raspberry with notes of toasted oak and vanilla. In the glass, you will nd avors of cherry and currant and a lingering and thoughtful nish. Good structure, a moderate weight, polished tannins and a balanced acidity promise an ever more pleasing wine to come. is is a Cabernet Sauvignon which will continue to evolve and remain enjoyable for quite some time to come.
A wonderful red wine, full-bodied, dry and elegant. It shows Cabernet character in the blackberries, cherries and black currants, but thatrsquo;s balanced with an earthiness and minerality and even some smoked meat notes that must come from a percentage of Syrah and Petit Sirah.
