Bonterra Vineyards Viognier North Coast 2006
We've been farming organically since 1987. Because it's our belief that organic grapes make better wine.
This wine had a very light, grape-y flavor. It's a blend of viognier, marsanne and rousanne. It tasted great paired with light appetizers but could also be easily sipped alone. The tasting notes from Flemings where I tasted it read "Aromas of honeysuckle, jasmine and exotic fruits greet the nose, and layers of fresh sliced peaches, papaya, mango, kiwi, pear, green apple and key lime grace the palate. A brief oaking adds touches of vanilla and herb that stick around for a long, lingering finish. This wine is both bright and creamy. Marsanne supplies the rich texture and apple flavors. Rousanne gets credit for the pear and florals. Viognier adds brightness, honeysuckle and exotic flavors.
