Food Pairings for Bonterra Vineyards Chardonnay Mendocino County
External Reviews for Bonterra Vineyards Chardonnay Mendocino County
From Fetzer's organic offshoot winery, a terrific Chardonnay despite a lean austerity. You won't get much more than citrus, maybe green apple, in the fruit department, but the wine is so well structured and clean, it creates interest. Oak and lees are prominent but not overwhelming.
An apple, lemon-citrus and crème brûlée bouquet precedes bright fruit flavors of cinnamon-baked apple, ripe pear and toasty-oak vanilla. A creamy texture with fine balancing acidity carries the wine to a lingering finish.
Fetzer takes price in nurturing the natural flavors of organically grown Mendocino County grapes and expressing Bonterra's distinctive style. This Chardonnay displays bright apple-citrus and tropical fruit flavors with a hint of vanilla-spice.
Comprised of organic grown grapes, this 2000 Chardonnay is filled with the essences of fresh green apples, grapefruit, and other tropical flavors. Subtle oak gives balance to this wine by adding rich notes of butter and spicy vanilla. The finish is bright, refreshing, and long lasting.
Forward green apple, lemon-citrus and crème brûlée aromas precede bright, fully realized flavors of cinnamon-apple, ripe pear and toasty-oak vanilla. Creamy texture and finely balanced acidity add weight and lingering freshness to the palate. Fish and chicken are prime pairings, with herbed pork loin and salmon in almost every style a good match for the more venturesome.
Clean, pure aromas of smoky oak, tangerine, vanilla and ripe peach. Rich on the palate, with lots of fruity extract and spicy oak. Balanced, dry and refined.
Refreshing and racy Chardonnay, with lemon-lime notes and a toasty oak edge for balance.
