Bonterra Organically Grown Viognier 2016

Editorial Review by Snooth Editorial:

Pronounced and floral with melon and candied pear aromas, fleshy peach and dried apricot. Juicy and firm on the palate with dried fruit and crushed wildflower notes, nice acidity and bold spice, some tangerine notes and a varietal oiliness to the finish of nicely integrated oak.

Reminds me of the new Lightly Sweetened Peach/Passion Fruit Snapple Iced White Tea. Obviously not as sweet as Snapple, but Peach and Passionfruit are on the forefront. this is a great wine for sipping on a summer night with a cigar.

This wine had a very light, grape-y flavor. It's a blend of viognier, marsanne and rousanne. It tasted great paired with light appetizers but could also be easily sipped alone. The tasting notes from Flemings where I tasted it read "Aromas of honeysuckle, jasmine and exotic fruits greet the nose, and layers of fresh sliced peaches, papaya, mango, kiwi, pear, green apple and key lime grace the palate. A brief oaking adds touches of vanilla and herb that stick around for a long, lingering finish. This wine is both bright and creamy. Marsanne supplies the rich texture and apple flavors. Rousanne gets credit for the pear and florals. Viognier adds brightness, honeysuckle and exotic flavors.

Made from organically grown grapes, this thick, creamy Viognier has great perfume and weight and shows an expertly handled balance between ripeness and oak.

Aromatic, with pretty honeysuckle notes adding elegance to the crisp, juicy peach and Key lime pie notes. Offers a juicy, refreshing finish. Drink now.

Clean and bright in crisp, steely acidity, this delightful white wine has complex, exotic flavors of tropical fruits, wildflowers, vanilla and spices. It's great by itself and with savory appetizers.

This offers mouthwatering acidity, with zingy apple, peach and lemon-lime flavors and a tropical passion fruit punch. Crisp and clean, the medium-bodied flavors persist on the finish. Drink now.

Tangy Key lime pie flavors are refreshing and lively, with papaya, mango and kiwi mixed in. Citrus, herb and floral notes jump out of the glass, with a long, lingering finish. Drink now.

Certified organic. Bonterra's wines are always so crisp in acidity and so clean, maybe due to their intense organic and biodynamic practices. This Viognier has the variety's exotic, wildflower and fruit flair, but is grounded with a minerality, gunmetal taste, and the finish is absolutely dry.

Bonterra has always done a good job with Viognier, and here's another one. Maybe it's the biodynamic grapes, but the fruit is so clean and pure. Apricots, peaches, papayas and spicy flavors all come together in a honeyed texture, but the wine is dry and quite perky in acidity.
