Lost tasting notes. Really liked this wine as did fellow diners. Paired really well with a duck and mushroom gumbo.

Wet wool and farm animals on the nose - this is real syrah! Incredibly viscous, with immense mouthfeel. Its a big wine. Prunes and raisins dominate. And there's a thick anise / licorice root finish.

Here's a bone-dry, powerful young Syrah that's packed with hard tannins. The vineyard sourcing is interesting, ranging from the Sierra Foothills through Paso Robles and the Salinas Valley to the Santa Cruz Mountains. Combining the ripe fruit of warm climates with the acidity of cool regions, the wine has black currant, beef jerky, sour cherry candy, black pepper, anise and cola flavors that are quite complex. Not likely to age, but a lovely, full-bodied red to have now.

This wine is one of Randall Graham's finest efforts! "Great syrah is all about perfume and the tension between the wild and the refined." says Graham. I would put this in the same league with some of the greatest French Rhone wines out there. The wine is composed of 96% Syrah and 4% Grenache and is super rich and full-bodied. Deep purple in color and a beautiful floral nose are the first to impress. Dark and silky with balanced fruit and spices, it tantalizes your taste buds with ripe blueberries, black cherries and a hint of licorice. The wine will definitely complement Blackened Salmon, Grilled Lamb Chops or any kind of Barbecued meats.

Red-ruby. Musky aromas of cherry, boysenberry, smoke and gunflint. Quite complex in the mouth, with the texture of a French wine. Musky and saline notes add complexity to the dried fruit flavors. A structured, serious wine in a distinctly French style, finishing with tongue-dusting tannins and a slight dryness.

Here's a dry, big, bold, but soft Syrah, packed with jammy cherry, cassis and raspberry fruit, with interesting notes of soil, leather, grilled meat bone and oak. It's a blend of Bien Nacido fruit and a Paso Robles vineyard and tastes like a Northern Rhône, except for the softness, which limits aging; drink this polished wine now. Great food wine.
