Food Pairings for Bonny Doon Vineyard Albariño Monterey County Ca' del Solo
80% Albarino, 20% ? A very summery wine with aromas of peaches on the nose. Its oily, and has a subtle minty / bay leaf character. Good acidity and nicely mineral. The finish is almost chalky. Overall a pure, food friendly wine.
This wine is so crisp and refreshing. I paired it with oysters on a warm spring day. Quite a combo!

Our wine-making is generally hands-off, respectful of the originality of the vineyard site. Our 08 vintage expresses the beautifully crystalline mineral aspect of the Monterey County soils, bracingly crisp citrus and great persistence on the palate. Perfect as an aperitif and wildly appropriate with Asian foods. This single vineyard, certified Biodynamic® wine from our Ca’ del Solo Estate vineyard in Monterey County is pale straw in color with lively green highlights and a very slight effervescence. Bright aromas of lemon blossom and white ginger evoke the scents of the winding pilgrim paths leading to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia. Citrus rind, wild herbs and green almond flavors continue this Spanish interlude as the ‘08 vintage finishes long, crisp and briny. Pairs beautifully with fresh oysters, camarón en cazuela or any fresh bloomy rind goat or sheep’s milk cheese.
