Bonneau Martray Corton Char 2008

Winemaker's Notes:

"Here the nose is noticeably riper than the '07 version with a hint of exoticism to the citrus, pear and white peach suffused nose. The rich and extremely fresh middle weight plus flavors possess an impressive amount of dry extract as well as ample mineral influence on the austere and ultra pure finish that seems to go on and on. While its '07 counterpart is perhaps a bit more classical in style with more underlying tension, the '08 has a bit more material and like the '07, is impeccably well balanced. While it will live for many years, it will probably come to its peak 8 to 10 years from now...92-95" BH 06/10 "The 2008 Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne is a classic in the making that perfectly captures the generosity of fruit and the great transparency and raciness that make this vintage so compelling. The bouquet is deep and complex, as it offers up a beautiful blend of apple, lemon, lovely minerality, a delicate touch of corn meal and just the faintest whiff of vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and crisp, with a great base of soil, outstanding focus and cut and a long, transparent and intense finish. Just a beautiful bottle in the making. 2015-2040...94" JG 11/09

Offering a nice mix of citrus and mineral, with a hint of oak, this is subtle and nuanced, with white peach, lemon and floral flavors. A luminous white. Best from 2013 through 2027. 3,000 cases made. -BS Wine Spectator. A Chardonnay wine from Burgundy in France. 2008 Domaine Bonneau du Martray Corton Charlemagne 750ml
