- As usual, Jean-Charles le Bault de la Morinière was a wealth of information about the characteristics of the vintage and in particular, a detailed recount of the growing season. He reports that 2002 had a relatively early bud break (March 15) though cool weather prevented much growth and it wasn't until April 7th where things go underway in earnest. April and May were cool and mostly dry, which allowed growth to continue without interruption. Flowering was relatively consistent and the first were noted on June 3rd and virtually everything was in full flower by the 13th. Temperatures climbed read more...
