Bon Cap the Perfect Blend 2009

Member Review by steve16046:

I have never faired well with Pinotage, but this one was quite surprising. Pours a deep and dark violet color with some lighter purple hues on the edges. Aromas of dark berries, smoke, coffee and tobacco. Starts off with ample amounts of dark berries and smoke. In the middle the smoke subsides a bit with the presence of coffee, tobacco and more berries. Finishes slightly smoky and with a charred wood flavor. This full bodied wine leaves a moderate taste of smoke on the palate. Grilled some steaks and paired it with this wine. Still not a 'lover' of Pinotage, but this one gave me some hope.
