I was indeed a wine newbie as I am now when I drank this wine. I instantly fell in love with it because of the intense fruity flavor and the tannins and acid were so in balance it was extremely easy to drink. I felt this vintage, the 2007, beat the 2008 hands down.

Good value...but a bit young. Needs to age a bit. Definitely needs to breathe before drinking, probably should be with dinner and not just for a casual glass of wine.
