This wine is garnet red in color and has bouquet of black pepper, cedar hints, fresh fruits (grapes, berries) and walnuts. Valpolicella is medium bodied, has long persistence with smoky character, due to a short ageing process in Slavonian oak casks of 4,000-8,000 liters (1,058-2,115 gallon), as well as in used American and French barrels, to stabilize color, improve wine complexity and soften tannins. - Winery

If you're looking for a simple, crisp Italian white wine with delicate but definitive fruit flavor, Bolla Soave dose it better than most. It's not reaching for sweetness or a contemporary international style. Instead it's an honest, delightfully Veronese white. The same could be said for its red sibling, Bolla Bardolino. In recent years, the firm has made an effort to lighten the style of their Bardolino to return to the classic mode of this regional red and create a recognizable difference from their Valpolicella. The new Bardolino is light, peppery and clean, much better than a beer with a slice of pizza or a simple pasta dinner.

A light, effusive wine. Fruity, joyous berry aromas with black-pepper notes. Easy mouthfeel, raspberry flavors with a touch of spice and tar. A refreshing, easy-drinking red.

The category leader and perennial favorite Valpolicella has a winning combination of bright cherry fruit, light spiciness, and lively body that seems to complement almost every cuisine.

Winemaker's Notes:

The Bardolino region sits on vineyards that overlook the tranquil shores of Lake Garda in the eastern Veneto. With an aroma that is light and delicately fruity, this dry, full-flavored wine carries a fresh raspberry taste to a pleasant finish. Enjoy with risotto, pasta with meat sauces, white meats and smoked fish.
