- Aromatically, this is classic Genevrières with its spicy, exotic, sexy nose framed by a background hint of new wood followed by ripe, opulent, indeed even lush flavors that maintain their focus. Delicious yet entirely serious and this is a wine of obvious breed that isn't necessarily better than either the Mouchère or the Pucelles but one that is entirely different. Most impressive.

- ($86) Knockout nose of lime, hazelnut, clove, nut oil and liquid stone. Wonderfully sweet and tactile on the palate, with brilliant fruit. Powerful, chewy and solid. Finishes with great length. This shows a tad more phenolic ripeness than Boillot's negociant Genevrieres, and perhaps a bit more dry extract owing to the high percentage of millerande grapes. It's hard to imagine 2002s better than this in the context of their sites.
