My Rating 87: This wine is of medium intensity, not as powerful I would expect a Old Zin to be. Nose develops into elegant fruit. Body is fruity but lacks complexity. Overall a wine that is a good value

I like my Zins with a little more gusto than this one. A full fruity wine, I get mostly plum. It's jammy and medium bodied. Good price and easy to drink.

Scents of sun-warmed, wild raspberries bubble up to the surface in your first impression of this Zinfandel. Notes of ripe berries and nutmeg follow, while touches of black pepper and subtle, spicy oak complement the fruit. Full-bodied; the mouthfeel is rounded out and finished with earthy notes and soft tannins.
Light and perfumed with the ripe scent of a basket of strawberries, this warm Zin is ready for sausages.
The 2001 Zinfandel Old Vine's dark plum/ruby color is followed by earthy aromas of sandalwood, tree bark, cranberries, and cherries. This medium-bodied offering possesses excellent fruit, fine texture, and an attractive openness. Drink it over the next 1-2 years.
Round and supple, with very good intensity to the vanilla, cassis and raspberry character that folds into cedary tones and lively structure. Shows off a little peppery quality, too. Drink now through 2006.
