Bogle Vineyards Zinfandel Old Vines 2008
Score: N/A Tasting Notes: This full-bodied vintage shows itself with rich black raspberry notes that round out in the mouth, accompanied by the scents of summer fruit jam bubbling on the stove. Juniper berry and cinnamon stick join the spiciness of red and black peppercorns as they integrate with the supple fruit and lead toward the finish. Toasty oak and cloves are the perfect finishing touch. This is the perfect wine to pair with everything from rich and unique dishes, to your favorite barbeque or weeknight take out! My Rating 87: This wine is of medium intensity, not as powerful I would expect a Old Zin to be. Nose develops into elegant fruit. Body is fruity but lacks complexity. Overall a wine that is a good value
Smooth, easy drinking, fruit forward without being a fruit bomb. Excellent every day value wine.
Pretty damn concentrated without going sweet. Full & rich, with hints of dark berries, black plums & pepper spice. Hard to beat the price! 92pts.
One dimentional with flavors of cough syrup intermingled with overipe jammy fruits. One dimensional and a bit harsh
I like my Zins with a little more gusto than this one. A full fruity wine, I get mostly plum. It's jammy and medium bodied. Good price and easy to drink.
Deep, fruity taste with a crisp finish. Great for the price.
Very light and fruity.

Round and supple, with very good intensity to the vanilla, cassis and raspberry character that folds into cedary tones and lively structure. Shows off a little peppery quality, too. Drink now through 2006.
Head-trained, dry-farmed old vines are again the source for Bogle's Old Vine Zinfandel. These gnarly old vines produce concentrated fruit of unsurpassed quality and intensity. This supple, mouthfilling wine leads with juicy blueberry and ripe blackberry fruit. Black pepper and hints of chocolate notes integrate well with the soft, plush body. Subtle hints of spicy oak and pipe tobacco create structure, allowing the wine to stand up to a variety of fare. This is the perfect wine to pair with everything from rich sauces and unique dishes to your favorite weeknight take-out.
It's rare to find such a rich, luscious, heady red for under $15, but the Bogle Old Vine Zin will have you swearing it cost twice that! Dark black and blueberries lead the way, reminiscent of the jams your grandmother used to make, leaving you with the very same teeth-staining purple ink. Subtle hints of spicy oak and pipe tobacco create structure, allowing this wine to stand up to a variety of fare. This is the perfect wine to pair with everything from rich sauces and unique dishes, to your favorite weeknight take-out.
Supple, juicy and easygoing, showing cola and bright cherry aromas, with spice and zesty licorice flavors. Drink now.
The 2001 Zinfandel Old Vine's dark plum/ruby color is followed by earthy aromas of sandalwood, tree bark, cranberries, and cherries. This medium-bodied offering possesses excellent fruit, fine texture, and an attractive openness. Drink it over the next 1-2 years.
Smooth and supple-textured, with a modest but classy blend of cocoa, coffee, black cherry, plum, vanilla and spice flavors, finishing with good length.
The Zinfandel crop of 1998 was marked by some of the lightest yields seen in recent years. Blackberry, clove and pepper are the trademark characters apparent in this vintage. However, a subtle violet aroma lingers in the background. Intensity, weight and concentration make this a wine for fans of serious Zinfandel.
