Light and perfumed with the ripe scent of a basket of strawberries, this warm Zin is ready for sausages.

Head-trained, dry-farmed old vines are again the source for Bogle's Old Vine Zinfandel. These gnarly old vines produce concentrated fruit of unsurpassed quality and intensity. This supple, mouthfilling wine leads with juicy blueberry and ripe blackberry fruit. Black pepper and hints of chocolate notes integrate well with the soft, plush body. Subtle hints of spicy oak and pipe tobacco create structure, allowing the wine to stand up to a variety of fare. This is the perfect wine to pair with everything from rich sauces and unique dishes to your favorite weeknight take-out.

The 2001 Zinfandel Old Vine's dark plum/ruby color is followed by earthy aromas of sandalwood, tree bark, cranberries, and cherries. This medium-bodied offering possesses excellent fruit, fine texture, and an attractive openness. Drink it over the next 1-2 years.

Smooth and supple-textured, with a modest but classy blend of cocoa, coffee, black cherry, plum, vanilla and spice flavors, finishing with good length.

The Zinfandel crop of 1998 was marked by some of the lightest yields seen in recent years. Blackberry, clove and pepper are the trademark characters apparent in this vintage. However, a subtle violet aroma lingers in the background. Intensity, weight and concentration make this a wine for fans of serious Zinfandel.
