Sweet citrus and ripe pear flavors steal the show. A nice floral, honey and spice layering on the finish is just what the wine needs. Lovely! 91pts. Read more

Terrible. Tasted like it was half wine, half water. Worse than boxed wine. Read more

Crisp & balanced, with not too much sweetness. Flavors are all classic Riesling, bouncing notes of citrus, pear, sweet spice & honeysuckle; complex finish makes it a versatile food wine. 90pts.

Bogle Vineyards Riesling has a crisp sweetness with clean acidity and a fresh clean finish. Juicy pear and honeyed mandarins create a bright enjoyable taste profile that compliments a spicy nose full of nutmeg and allspice. A light and refreshing finish is top off with subtle honeysuckle flavors that make this a complex but very drinkable wine.

A nice blend...fresh and aromatic with a nice crisp ending. The perfect compliment for desserts. The balancing act of crisp acidity and residual sweetness duels seductively on the palate. Fresh green apple and pear predominate, while spicy tones of clove and allspice lend a pleasant and luscious thickness. Hints of honeyed blossoms add a layer of complexity to a lovely and enjoyable wine.

Riesling is a lovely, multi-faceted wine: crisp as an apple picked freshly off the tree, sweet and juicy as a Bartlett pear ripened in the sunshine and as spicy as the cinnamon and nutmeg used in our kitchens this time of year. Grown in the cool microclimate of Monterey, these grapes showcase fruit full of expression and concentration. Balance between a succulent softness and a bright acidity keeps the wine complex and inviting. Honeyed and lingering, the finish fills the palate with warm touches of spice. - WineryVINEYARD SOURCESMonterey HARVEST DATESOctober 9, through November 8, 2010 FERMENTATION100% stainless steel, cold fermented ** SOLD OUT **

Riesling is a wine varietal that has a little something for everyone: crisp sweetness, clean acidity, a fresh finish. Our 2009 vintage is sourced from the cool climate vineyards of Monterey County, where the grape loves warm days and chilly nights. With notes of juicy pears and honeyed mandarins, the sweetness on the palate is brilliantly balanced with a crisp acidity. Subliminal hints of classic Riesling petrol integrate with the spicy tones of nutmeg and allspice, leading to a honeysuckle finish that adds a layer of complexity to a lovely and easily drinkable wine. - Winery ** SOLD OUT **

Rating: 86/100 - As reviewed by Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine (www.cgcw.com) in the September 2010 issue. This noteworthy effort from Bogle shows that California might yet play a role in the Riesling sweepstakes. Its jasmine-scented aromas and juicy, peach and orange-peel flavors show decent varietal focus and a fine sense of brightness born out of its spry acidity that balances against its evident sweetness.Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine aging recommendation: Drinkable now. Unlikely to improve with further aging.
