Editorial Reviews for Bogle Vineyards Pinot Noir Russian River Valley
A bit spicy and leathery on the nose with hints of anise seed and black pepper along with a meaty edge to the blackberry and damson plum fruit. A nice blend of depth and lightness on the palate gives this an attractive mouthfeel with balanced flavors of oak, toast, some dried herb and nut tones all wrapped up in transparent dried cherry and raspberry fruit. This is fairly spicy with oak but the fruit does manage to keep the upper hand right through the moderately long, spicy and lightly peppery finish. Shows a bit of heat on the finish. 86pts
User Reviews for Bogle Vineyards Pinot Noir Russian River Valley
Add your reviewLittle earthy on the nose with a touch of raspberry. Decent tannin on the palate. Not a ton of grip, but most pinots are the same way. Not a fruit bomb by any means but there's just enough black cherry and raspberry to make it passable. Not the best pinot I've ever had, but for the price definitely a good QPR wine.
Dark plum color into the glass, with some long thick legs clinging to the glass. Nice deep earthy, woody aromas that warm up into berries, hayfields and peppery notes. Great firm structure, with tannins present with oak finish. Reminds me of Orin Swifts Reds.

Recalls a sun-dappled forest clearing, scattered with sweet wild strawberries, rustic mint and hints of baking spices. Bright berry and cola follows on the well-balanced palate, surrounded by soft suggestions of tea leaves and lavender. From the mellow French oak, toasty vanilla winds itself throughout, creating a long, lingering and elegant finish.
The 2009 Pinot Noir from Bogle represents some of the best varietal growing regions our state has to offer. Fruit from the cool confines of the Russian River Valley, from the coastal hills of Monterey and from the unique Clarksburg Delta combine to create a garnet-colored wine, varietally correct and food friendly. The first impression recalls a sun-dappled forest clearing, scattered with sweet wild strawberries, rustic mint and hints of baking spices. The first impression recalls a sun-dappled forest clearing, scattered with sweet wild strawberries and rustic mint. These hints of pine, bright berry and fresh herbs follow on the well-balanced palate, surrounded by soft suggestions of tea leaves and violets. Toasty vanilla winds itself throughout, wrapping around the finish: long, silky and elegant.
The red raspberry jam flavors of this wine are fading into caramel and autumn leaves. Fully mature and ready for roast beef.
Refreshingly pure and complex, with ripe, vivid wild berry, raspberry and blackberry fruit thatrsquo;s firm at points and supple at others. Full-bodied, with wonderful balance and harmony, ending with a dillish oak edge. Drink now. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.
A bit soft and dull, but itrsquo;s dry and silky like a Pinot Noir should be, with modest cherry and cola flavors.
