Zinfandel 52% - Petite Sirah 46% - Mourvèdre 2% Vanilla and blackberry jam greet the nose in a very direct way followed by hints of herb and carob along with sweet roasted plum fruit. This is soft and mouth coating with fine grained wood tannins that work their way into the crevasses of one’s mouth. A bit fat and fairly fruit with rich black cherry, black plum, and brown sugar flavors on the palate that give way to toasty, vanilla and cinnamon laced stewed cherry fruit on the moderately long and slightly peppery finish. 87pts

This ruby red spectre entices with rich blackberry and briary boysenberry. Provocative dark fruits envelop the nose and palate, leaving the essence of flavors brought forth by the grapes during winemaking. Black cherry and anise abound, leading to a sturdy finish of black pepper, pipe tobacco and spicy oak. Aged for over two years in 1 and 2 year old American oak focus and intensify the Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Mourvèdre, creating yet another passionate and commanding red wine, impossible to ignore. Welcome the winery ghost into your home again with this latest vintage, and enjoy with full-flavored and hearty meals…before it vanishes again. ~ The Winery ~

Named perfectly, it's deep and dark, musky with berries. Very full, would totally stand up to a peppercorn steak or something equally manly with a good cigar at the end.

best red blend in price range; great for casual dining or to just enjoy a glass while relaxing. Exotic blend makes this wine unique; petite syrah is accentuated with rich, jammy tones. Nothing small about this wine!

The coveted Phantom, Bogle's apparition of three unique varietals, combines lush berry and fierce spice into a wine of complex character. Vivid essence of black pepper, dark fruit and juniper haunts the nose, while brighter flavors of blackberries and blueberries glance off the palate. From the shadows, toasty cinnamon and nutmeg emerge, subtly embracing the deeply luscious and succulent fruit to create a full-bodied, ruby rich wine. Captured in 1, 2 and 3 year old American oak barrels, this wine showcases the best these distinct varietals have to offer.

As everyone knows, "bogle" is synonymous with hobgoblin, bogeyman, and bugbear. The Bogle Phantom, despite having a somewhat redundant name, is a tight, focused blend, consisting mainly of Petite Sirah and old-vine Zinfandel, with a touch of Mourvèdre adding mystique.
