Phantom is a favorite at my house, and we tend to buy a case to drink half and save half. This is a lovely and drinkable wine when released but becomes more smooth and refined after allowing some extra age time. At release, the '04 is darkly fruity, not a big surprise from Bogle, especially considering their very jammy and cheap(!) Old Vines Zin. If you're lookiing for a $30 wine that costs $10-15 less, get this. If you're wanting a $50 wine for WAY less, get this and save it for a year or two. Absolutely delicious.

Wow, I received this wine accidentally (My Admin Assistant was supposed to pick up a case of Bogle Red Zinfandel and she got this instead!), and I accidentally fell in love with this wine. Bold, rich, and stands alone without food. Great to enjoy anytime and perfect to sit by the fire and toast the holidays for those who like cabs, but want something less acidic and, as a previous review indicated, with smoother tannins. Mark of a true Zinfandel, Primitivo/Puglia...

Oh yeah...this is yummy stuff. It's a mix of Zinfandel, Petite Syrah and Mourvedre. I've never heard of Mourvedre grapes but I like the balance. It's deep, rich, dark, and has that high class bouquet and taste that really expensive cabernet meritage's have but without the tannins. If you're a big tannic acid fan don't let that keep you from trying this! It's got that right mix of Earthy, but not dirty, fruity, but not sweet, and the Zinfandel reaches out to you without being too....Zinfandelly. I wish I had a nice, big, char-broiled filet mignon right now to suck on between sips!

The best bottle for the price that Bogle has to offer hands down. An amazing winery in you are in the Delta region.

Like its namesake, this wine can be hard to track down. But, I really like this red. It is full and juicy and a real treat. And, for under $20 a bottle, feels like a true bargain. Well worth the hunt.
