Rating 87 : Not as good as previous vintages but still good!!! Strong berry nose with complex aromas. Body more tart with a good balance and fruity tones.
Nose improves with decanting, with some berry and moderate oak. Blueberry predominates on the palate, with chewy structure, moderate acidity and a tiny touch of spice. Virtually no finish.
Heady, sexy and voluptuous, layering notes of raspberry liqueur, dark chocolate and sweet vanilla. 94pts
Bogle Vineyards Petite Sirah 2008 is lacking in character and is rather bland. There is much better out there even at this price. 82 pts

Ripe summer blackberries and plums overwhelm both the nose and palate of this wine. Its trademark inky, jammy qualities are a barrage of black fruit and spice, adding layer upon layer of complexity. Notes of supple leather and toasty oak envelop the flavors through the finish, giving way to wisps of caramel and vanilla. The firm tannins make this a wine that can develop for years to come, but you won't want to wait that long to enjoy it!
Bogle is a consistent source of top-value Petite Sirah. Black pepper and spicy nuances enhance this wine's plum, berry and cherry flavors, with everything nestled in a comfortable bed of oak. Smooth and harmonious.
This was a panel favorite for an affordable, value wine. Itrsquo;s simple and richly flavored with blackberry, cherry and chocolate notes, and has firm, dry tannins. The pretty fruit flavors and oriental spices last through the finish.
Ripe and juicy, this full-bodied red is brimming with spicy red cherry and blueberry flavors, a generous mouthfeel, and a kiss of smoky oak to finish it all off.
First produced in 1978 by the Bogle family, this 2004 Petite Sirah is considered Boglersquo;s ldquo;heritagerdquo; varietal. On the nose, luscious boysenberry teases you along with touches of black pepper and herbs. Trademark inky and jammy tones fill the mouth with ripe fruit and berries. The voluptuous finish lingers with toasty oak and lush fruit. The firm tannins make this a wine that can develop for years to come, but you wonrsquo;t want to wait that long to enjoy it! Try this unique wine with rich meat dishes of lamb, pork or game and their hearty sauces.
Pizza? Lasagna? This is the perfect inexpensive wine. Itrsquo;s full-bodied and brawny, and totally dry, with big tannins and fresh, deep flavors of blackberries, coffee, cocoa and dried leather. Shows real character, and will develop for a few years.
Winemaker's Notes:
A richness on the nose is immediately complemented by touches of dark cherry and anise. Hints of exotic liqueurs, jammy berries and just the suggestion of cocoa powder envelop the well balanced mouthfeel. Voluptuous and enticing, this dessert wine will seduce even the most reluctant of drinkers. This will be enjoyable for the next 20 years.
