Bogle Vineyards Petite Sirah Clarksburg Port 2006
On the nose, luscious boysenberry teases you along with touches of black pepper and herbs. Trademark inky and jammy tones fill the mouth with ripe fruit and berries. The voluptuous finish lingers with toasty oak and lush fruit. The firm tannins make this a wine that can develop for years to come, but you wont want to wait that long to enjoy it! Try this unique wine with rich meat dishes of lamb, pork or game and their hearty sauces.
DARK COLOR. Notes of blueberry, pepper. Inky notes with RIPE FRUIT. Decent tannins but not firm, falls short on midpalate but has nice finish. Jammy (similar to zin)
Pretty much agree with most favorable reviews. This was the "cheapest" by glass wine at a favorite restaurant. I was shocked to be able to get it for $11. Just a bit of oak too I think, supple but zingy. Great bargain.
Dark berry and pepper aromas reminiscent of an old vine zinfandel. Bright berry with soft pepper is also evident on the palate. Tannins could stand a little more rounding but they dont detract from a nice lingering finish with oak, dark berry and herbs. Cdn $19,99. Very good value.
A fantastic bargain wine. I'll be buying some more of this when quantity is important.
A deep red color and a nice oily consistency in the glass. Smells of blackberry, cherry, minerals, and a slight woodiness. The blackberry mixes with raisin on the tongue, together with a strong earthy flavor and a slight hint of tobacco. The fruit disappears quickly, but the earthiness lingers for a while. -Nikku
blueberry jam doppelganger
Fruit forward overall; plum, dark fruit, and mild leather & vegetation on nose; some cherry and spice on palate, little bit hot/alcoholic, but still good balance; medium-light body; solid tannin throughout; consistent & satisfactory finish w/ hint of tobacco. Outstanding quality for price, will definitely buy again.
