Although the Bogle family has been farming since the mid-1800's, it was not until 1968 that the father and son team of Warren and Chris Bogle planted their first 20 acres of wine grapes in Clarksburg, California. In this small farming community nestled along the Sacramento River, the Bogle family's years of hard work have developed into an impressive grape growing operation, as well as a nationally acclaimed winery. Today Bogle Vineyards farms over 1,200 acres of wine grapes in the Delta region. While the winery was established ten years after the first grapes were planted, its success has grown tremendously along with the vineyards. The success of Bogle over the years is firmly rooted in one thing: the day-to-day involvement of the Bogle family in the hands-on effort to produce and promote quality wines. Patty Bogle became involved in the early years of the vineyards with her late husband Chris, when they planted fields together in the early 1970's. Patty took over operation of the winery in 1989 and has directed production to new and exciting heights. Patty's daughter Jody also contributes to the family business by being active in customer support, as well as running the wine club and handling all international sales. Patty's son Warren, named after the founder of Bogle Vineyards, is the sixth generation of the Bogle family to farm this fertile Delta region. Like his grandfather and father, Warren understands that in order to produce quality wines, you must first produce quality grapes. This tradition of respect for the land and the vines is crucial to the success of Bogle wines. The production of Bogle wine is influenced by this family tradition as well as the ever-changing trends in the wine industry. Since 1992, Bogle Winery has participated in the California Appellation Program. In this program, winemakers source fruit from some of the best vineyards in the state and blend them with Bogle's Estate Vineyards in Clarksburg, thus assuring that the wines benefit from many of the incredible grape growing regions of California. Each and every Bogle wine created is a unique and exciting blend with true varietal character and an approachable style. With their deep commitment to quality, the Bogle family wouldn't have it any other way. Read less

Winemaking Notes: Gorgeous in the glass with rich hues of garnet, the first impressions entice with aromas of sandalwood, vanilla and black cherry. The mouthwatering entry is full of red plums and cherries, while the middle palate of the wine softens with touches of cola and a smooth and silky mouthfeel. Notes of baking spices and mocha are left behind by the 12 months in American oak, leading to a lingering, luxe finish. WINE PH: 3.63 WINE ACIDITY: 0.51g/100mL ALCOHOL: 13.5%

FROM THE WINEMAKER: What makes the Merlot a perfect, everyday wine for just about any occasion and any food pairing? Gorgeous in the glass, the deeply colored wine entices with aromatics of black cherry, pipe tobacco and sweet anise. The lively entry is full of rich red fruits of cherries, plums and a touch of cola, and the plush middle caresses with a silky and smooth mouthfeel. An unexpected pop of acidity surprises the palate just before notes of baking spices and mocha lead to a soft and lingering finish. A FEW OF OUR FAVORITE PAIRINGS: • Margherita Pizza • Aged White Cheddar • Chicken Liver Pâté BARREL PROGRAM: Barrel aged in American oak for 12 months WINE pH: 3.55 WINE ACIDITY: 0.57g/100ml ALCOHOL: 13.5%

From the Winemaker: Dark rubies sparkle in the glass, enticing with first impressions of sweet summer herbs and hints of anise. Quickly followed by a burst of Bing cherry, the entry is full of rich, dense red fruits. Smooth and silky in texture, yet with a full mouthfeel, notes of baking spices and vanilla mocha envelope the fruit. One year of aging in American oak barrels leaves behind polished tannins and a lingering finish. BARREL PROGRAM: 100% barrel aged in American oak for 12 months pH: 3.55 WINE ACIDITY: 0.56g/100ml ALCOHOL: 13.5%

A sensory overload of ripe fruits and savory garden herbs that overwhelms the nose. Summer plums and sweet cherries create a full entry and even bigger mouthfeel than lingers and languishes with the toasty vanilla from the American oak barrels. Remaining silky and smooth in texture, the wine finishes with sturdy tannins. - Winery BARREL PROGRAM: 100% barrel aged in American oak for 12 months
