Very fruity on the nose with jammy blackberry and bramble aromas that reveal plenty of Zinfandel in the blend with some black plummy fruit and a bit of black, licorice spice all covered with rather smoky, toasty raw oak. Moderately big on entry with a slightly chewy mouthfeel and flavors that are bold in their intensity but rather matte on the palate with a cold coffee quality that envelops the palate along with dark plummy and bitter chocolate fruit. The finish is rather raw, with scratchy tannins and some toasted almond notes and more brewed coffee character. A bit soft in the mouth, and a touch sweet, this is big and boring. 80pts

One of the few Zinfandels I liked immediately. This wine was intense with deep berry taste which lingered on the entire surface of my tongue, a slight peppery tang with tannins that I could realize were there for my palate to enjoy. The finish was grand, the taste remains as I sip another to refresh my palate's memory.

Aromas of ripe. dark summer berries, plums and nutmeg; the palate reinforces those notes and adds a subtle peppery spice to the mix, finishing firm yet smooth. 92pts

Nice and earthy nose and a mellow subtle pallet. dark berry flavors, but again relaly subtle. A surprising amounbt of tannins on the back end which cut short the dark berry flavor some. I did like it, though not as much as the 7 Deadly Zins.

Rich, enticing layers of complexity, starting with that first irresistible sip. Ripe fruit, intense with flavors of boysenberries and sweet cherries. Luscious vanilla, caressing the palate from barrel aging in American and French oak. Juicy and silky throughout, with a finish that lingers of black licorice and spicy pipe tobacco.

What a delicious Zin this is. Sourced from the warm climates of Lodi and Amador County, it’s ripe and fruity, offering waves of wild raspberries and cherries dusted with brown sugar, cocoa and pie spice. Great value in a lusty, versatile Zin.

A juicy fruit bomb, with appealing cherry, tea and spicy vanilla flavors. Drink now through 2017.

This supple and mouth-filling vintage leads with juicy blueberry and ripe blackberry fruit. Black pepper and hints of chocolate notes integrate well with this soft, plush body. Subtle hints of spicy oak and pipe tobacco create structure, allowing this wine to stand up to a variety of fare.

Head-trained, dry farmed vines are prized for their production of small, concentrated clusters of grapes that produce incredibly rich and intense wines. For years, Bogle has sought out these rugged old vines to create our Old Vine Zinfandel.Bold and vibrant notes of summer raspberry intoxicate the senses, enticing you to take a sip of this lively red zinfandel. Once on the palate, flavors of briary blackberries and ripe cranberries meld with tones of baking spices such as clove and nutmeg. Nuances are added from the young American oak, concentrating and enhancing the juicy mouthfeel. The full-bodied tannin structure relaxes into a smooth and supple finish: long, lingering and full of enjoyment. - Winery
