Bogle Chardonnay 2008
Wine Tasting Notes A rich and elegant wine with layers of complexity. Fresh tropical fruits like pineapple and mango greet both the nose and palate upon first sip, followed up by a touch of lemon cream. Complimented by more creamy notes of butterscotch and caramel, the wine has a long, lingering finish hinting of toasty oak. Enjoy this wine with just about everything you can pair it with.
light yellow with green hue in glass - nose - holly fruit batman...smells like pineapple/banana - perhaps cocconut? The mouth feel carries on the same, with a medium bodied, somewhat creamy feel. Must say, those that have had the Yoplait yogurt with the same fruit combo above, if you close your eyes, you will think you are drinking this! So, not a bad little wine. Is it a classic Chard? Don't think so, but that is what i'm exploring. Very interesting wine, good value, and i would suggest you try some.
A little on the sweet side for my taste
Very good wine, especially for the price. Should drink while at a young age.
Good wine for casual sipping. Nice and fruity with a little sweetness
One and a half glasses
External Reviews for Bogle Chardonnay
Bogle has a solid reputation for its reliable, well-produced varietal wines at very affordable prices. This barrel-fermented Chardonnay offers appealing citrus and tropical fruit notes with a creamy texture. The wine's hint of residual sugar makes it an ideal match for savory/sweet fare, like a marinated pork loin with fruit coulis.
Bogle Chardonnay is barrel fermented with sur-lies aging, and partial malolactic fermentation creates aromas of green apple and ripe pear with cream and butter aromas and palate feel. The spice and toast of the oak is also noted in both the palate and aromas but are not overwhelming
Fresh and lively, full-bodied and smooth-textured, with vibrant green apple, melon, ripe pear and honeysuckle flavors, ending with a long, full finish. Drink now through 2011. 250,000 cases made. -JL
