Food Pairings for Boekenhoutskloof Syrah Porcupine Ridge
The 2010 Syrah is predominantly Malmesbury fruit about 1/3 of which is un-oaked. This intensely red colored wine shows big mouthfuls of red fruit and a hint of pepper,a silky and full-bodied texture with soft tannins and well integrated wood. Not yet reviewed; 2009 vintage rated 87 points by Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast, which wrote: Soft and light on the nose with delicate aromas of raspberry and red cherry. The palate shows a bit more heft, with more concentrated flavors of juicy red plum flesh and berry mash laced with graham cracker and crushed iris petal accents. The structure is firm but balanced; drink now or hold for another year.
