Add your reviewIntense spicy notes on the nose which is supported by ripe plum, black fruit and violet aromas. The wine has a grippy acidity and well integrated tannins with a well textured and rounded mouth feel. Long, elegant and succulent finish with superb structure from the Cabernet Sauvignon.
This wine will always have a special place in our home as it was the first red I was able to get my wife to enjoy with me. She has expanded her taste beyond this wonderful wine now, but this is still her old reliable and she loves to introduce it to people.
I truly enjoyed this wine! It was easy drinking with a round, yet deep, mouthfeel. Silky, with just enough bite to make me smile. I liked it straight out of the bottle, but it improved even more after 30 minutes of air time.

Boekenhoutskloof The Chocolate Block 2008: Bei diesem körperreichen und gut strukturierten Wein dominieren intensive Schokonoten und eine wunderbare Würze, Im Glas scheint er in einem klaren, intensiven, dunklen Kaminrot. In der Nase zeigt sich eine moderate Aromenausprägung, auch hier spürt man reifen Früchte und Schokoladennoten. Am Gaumen präsentiert er sich mit einem mittel gewichtigen Körper mit intensiven Aromen, nach dunklen Beerenfrüchten und einem Aromenspiel aus Frucht, Würze und Schokolade. Der Wein ist sehr vollmundig mit viel Schmelz und einem fast cremigen Charakter, dabei aber nicht übermäßig komplex, was dem leichten Genuss förderlich ist. Eignet sich zu Pizza mit Oliven, gegrillter Entenbrust mit Rotweinsauce und mittelkräftigem Schnittkäse.
