This is noticeably oaky on the nose with a sharp mineral and spice quality. At first this seems a bit creamy on entry but it quickly turns really decisive on the palate with obvious oak and almost reticent fruit that build slows. At first there is only a base of fruit here but with time, and with food, you get lovely notes of lemon curd, orange creme, honeycomb and walnut skins that gains nice focus on the appley acid finish. Not a blockbuster but a really fine food wine and one that gives back to your for paying attention. 88pts

Smoky, a bit flinty and subtly vegetal on the nose with subdued bitter apple and pithy fruits topped by a touch of white pepper. A bit loose on the palate but nicely transparent with slightly creamy, almond flavors up front that are supported by bright mineral notes. The fruit remains subdued on the palate, if nicely balanced. This is an easy sipper which does gain depth with air and shows a some nice detail, but it is a small scaled wine with a modest finish today, ending with some apple seed notes. 87pts

Buttery and chardonnay-like on the nose but transforms into a light more lady-like wine on the palate yet has a powerful edge of smoky campfire...talk about an identity crisis!

Besides, Viognier, this also has Chenin and Grenache Blancs. An unusual blend, and the risk pays off. There's sweet fruit and vanilla on the nose, with some toast and sesame, which I think comes from the Chenin. The flavors round each other out nicely. Would be great with food!

A very warm smelling wine with plenty of oak. This is sweet.

Woodsy & apple notes; oak & vanilla on the nose.

Winemaker's Notes:

Fruit blossom, spices and almond flavours, followed with a well textured palate with nice weight and a rounded finish. The wine has a lingering aftertaste with subtle wood flavours.
