Food Pairings for Bodegas Y Viñedos del Jalón Calatayud Viña Alarba Pago San Miguel
Super QPR, plenty of mostly dark fruit and while not overly complex it was certainly the hit of dinner (Andrea, Sarah, Samara and I); wonderful finish for such an inexpensive wine.

The Las Pizarras del Jalón Calatayud 2005 is produced from 100% old bush, dry farmed Garnacha vines that range in age from 70 to 100 years old. It has a dark ruby red color and is quite floral with aromas of , lavender, spices, and Provencal herbs. Despite it's age the flavor has a modern, rich taste with a round palate and layers of cherry, dark plum and light oak spice. A well balanced wine with a long that has plenty of tannins to be saved for several years.
