Bodegas Y Viñedos de la Marquesa Tempranillo Blend Rioja Crianza Valserrano 2008
Made with 90% Tempranillo and 10% Mazuelo grapes, the wine undergoes cold maceration and temperature-controlled fermentation in order to extract color and preserve the grapes' fruty aromas to the furthest extent possible. It is aged for 17 months in American and French barrels, then transferred to tanks, where is kept for some months to achieve a good integration and harmony of flavors and aromas before being bottled.
RiceSelect's fragrant Jasmati® is blended with eggs, milk and fall's favorite spices, cinnamon and nutmeg, to create a delicious rice pudding, which is layered on top of fluffy cream cheese and abuttery pecan crust. Pairs well with a bold, tawny port with flavors of dried fruits, nuts, and spices.

The red wine of Rioja is not only an expression of the place but also an expression of its dominant grape, Tempranillo. Valserrano is a very pure and tangy portrayal of that noble berry with plenty of red-fruits character and a "crunchy" texture. (Yep, crunchy sounds stupid, but by combining tartness, richness, and dustiness in this delightful wine, you get something akin to “crunching” into ripe red fruits.)
