Food Pairings for Bodegas Y Viñedos de la Marquesa Rioja Gran Reserva Valserrano
Due to the hot swing, the '03 has a lot of fruit giving it a very modern feel. Luckily they did not lose freshnees giving the wine a nice balance. Cherry pie, leather, and cigar box dominate. A wonderful value Gran Reserva
Colour: Medium-layer cherry red, with a gradual colour change towards the edge. Aroma: Intense, open and long-lasting. Without swirling, the wine gives off aromas of ginger, sun-dried hay, sun-dried apricots and peaches, and black-skinned berries. Swirling brings out fresher hints of red berries, with dairy notes. Taste: On the attack the wine is fresh, with tasty tannins and cocoa and orange peel flavours. Complex, pleasant and fresh. Lingering, elegant aftertaste.
Aged 27 months in 50% French, 50% American.
Notes: 9 months new, 16 months 3-year-old
