Editorial Reviews for Bodegas Volver Monastrell Wrongo Dongo
Sweet black fruit, rosemary and licorice notes greet the nose along with bright, almost grassy herb notes and gentle suggestions of wood smoke. Smooth on entry, this shows some firm tannins supporting the earthy, slightly balsamic and gamy core of fruit. This might be a touch soft and it drops off on the back end a bit, but it does have fine depth of lightly creamy and vanilla-accented dark, leathery fruit on the palate. Plenty of spicy accents pepper the licorice-tinged, blackcurrant finish that is rich with chewy fruit tannins. A touch on the tough side but an attractive wine. 87pts

Add your reviewMy Rating 85: Simple very dry wine that has no special memorable taste. The nose is clean and straight, but no complexity. Nothing wrong for everyday drinking. Wine has 14.5% alcohol. Another prove that you cannot taste the alcohol content. I once tried 92% chemical factory alcohol and found almost no taste at all, except a dehydration warmth. So all all these people that say you taste the percentage of alcohol are idiots. Or in a nicer tone uneducated drinkers!! They might be confused by the high content of taste material like acid ,sugar , glycol and various combinations of aldehydes.
big nose of red fruit....heavy tannins and acidity balance a fruit driven finish...
External Reviews for Bodegas Volver Monastrell Wrongo Dongo
The 2010 Wrongo Dongo, (a phrase made famous by the legendary Diamond Jim Arseneault), is a 100% Monastrell cuvee made from Jumilla grapes. Fermented and aged in stainless steel, it offers up a fruity nose with plenty of spice and floral notes. Ripe and savory on the palate, it has enough structure to provide pleasure for another 3andndash;4 years.
(raised completely in stainless steel): Bright violet color. Highly perfumed bouquet offers fresh blackberry, blueberry, potpourri and peppery spices. Pliant, medium-bodied dark berry flavors show good freshness and energy, picking up silky tannins with air. Turns tighter on the back, with the sweet dark fruit qualities echoing. This is pretty sexy stuff, especially for the price. The 2010 Wrongo Dongo, (a phrase made famous by the legendary Diamond Jim Arseneault), is a 100% Monastrell cuvee made from Jumilla grapes. Winemaker's Notes:
The vines are 25- to 35-year-old Monastrell, grown in very chalk soils using the evaso system. The vineyard is subject to great temperature fluctuations and receives scant to little rainfall. Maceration lasted 15 days in stainless steel tanks.
Tasting Notes:
Almost over the top with ripeness, the wine shows raisins, even figs, as well as blue plums, mulberries, and cherries. Though there is some gentle toasty oak, this wine is far more about unabashed fruit than smoky oak, and the wine finishes with a gentle and fruity polish.
