Winemaker's Notes:

Valbuena is the youngest of Vega Sicilia's red wines, a "fifth year" wine made from grapes from younger vines, a wine therefore less concentrated in its structure. Valbuena has the same colouring as its older brother, the Vega Sicilia "Unico", a garnet-cherry red with an orangeish edge and brick-red reflections, the result of an excellent evolution in cask and bottle, one of the specific traits of the red wines of Vega Sicilia. The personality of Valbuena is defined by the persistence of varietal traits, revealed for example in the ripe red fruity bouquet. In the mouth, although Valbuena is slighter in structure than Vega Sicilia Unico it still possess all the vinous-fruity complexity of a fine reserva.
