Rating: 97/100 - As reviewed by Wine & Spirits Magazine on 06/09 Exclusively dedicated to old wines of Jerez, Bodegas Tradición has earned its share of fame for the pure mineral expression in their wines. This imposing Oloroso is an excellent example, a compact block of briny flavor that fuses with the lively, almost spritzy acidity. It explodes with aromas of chestnuts, seaweed, chocolate and tea leaf, occupying every corner of the palate with touches of sea and limestone. As the wine opens with air, the texture grows in severity-almost to the point of feeling tannic. A challenging but gracefully refreshing wine that will only gain in complexity and depth over the years.
