Bodegas Telmo Dehesa Gago Tempranillo Spain 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

Like all the Telmo wines from Toro, Dehesa Gago is 100% Tinto de Toro (the local clone of Tempranillo). Dehesa gago Gago is picked by hand from bush vines, and fermented in neutral cement casks and stainless steel. It is then aged for 4-6 months in cement tanks. The distinctive red soils produce a Tinto de Toro (the local clone of Tempranillo) with tremendous fruit concentration, ripeness, acidity, tannins and structure. Dehesa Gago is the wine Telmo has used to discover and understand the vineyards of Toro, a pure wine that showcases the fruit.

This is how the business started, originally under the name of Compañía de Vinos de La Granja. The name was a declaration of intent: it made it clear that the company would be producing more wines in the future and contained a homage to La Granja, the famous glassworks, a centre of outstanding Spanish craftwork that has all but disappeared. Excellent, fine balance of dryness and fruit, pairs well with spicy foods.

Dunkelrote Farbe. In der Nase schöne Fruchtnoten. Am Gaumen ein karaktervoller, fruchtiger und intensiver Wein. Schöner Abgang.

This wine is made entirely from the Tinto de Toro grape, better known as Tempranillo. The “G” is fermented in stainless steel, allowing its pristine aromas of black plum, cherry and spice to be perfectly preserved.

Goldgelbe Farbe. Ein Jungwein. Fruchtig mit feinem, blumigen Bouquet, tropische Fruchtnoten, angenheme Süsse. Frischer, fruchtiger Gaumen.
