Peppery and dry, with a hint of leather. Maybe set this one down for a few years. A worthwhile exploration.
Rating 88. Nice different taste of tart fruit with complex layers. Nose is nice with unusually top aromas. This wine is different and well worth it's Costco price of 8.99

Black raspberry, spice and mineral overtones on the nose. There is a beautiful purity of flavor on this light to full bodied offering. Remarkably complex for this price range a raspberry flavoring slides across the palate to a lingering, tobacco laced finish. Good quality to price ratio on this one. 90+.
complex wine, very smooth and a touch viscous, perhaps at the tail end of its best drinking period. i found it pretty good considering i picked it up at the local supermarket. the nose is a bit leathery - i can understand why some people might not like it - but the blackberry and mineral flavors are quite nice. i found this wine a pleasant experience, but i would characterize it as "not for beginners."
I've tried this wine once and enjoyed it. Not too light, very strong berry flavors. We got it to try something new and were pleasantly surprised. Good wine for the money. Pants liked it too.
Excellent QPR. Lots of red fruit balanced with a soft minerality. Long on the finish but not overly complex. Medium body at best, do not expect a power hitter. Alcohol was high for me, over 14%, but I decanted for a couple of hours and heat faded. Paired very well with both a mild sausage and baked pork chop with succotash.

Deep ruby in color, this is beautifully redolent of flowers, licorice, and pure cherry fruit. Cherries show up on the palate as well, as this densely textured, delicately structured wine carries through to a lush finish.
90 Points - Wine Advocate "...gives up attractive aromas of kirsch, raspberries, pepper, and damp earth. This is followed by a broad, full-flavored wine with a supple texture and no hard edges..."
