Bodegas Salentein Malbec El Portillo 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

Portillo wines by renowned Bodegas Salentein originate in the prized high-altitude vineyards of Uco Valley in Mendoza, Argentina, where the winemaking philosophy is driven by an enduring respect for nature. Portillo wines take their name from the historic mountain pass linking the Andes to the Valle de Uco. A crossing used by General San Martin in his Liberation quest and by scientist Charles Darwin. Nowadays, Portillo is also the gateway to the fascinating wines of Bodegas Salentein. This collection of youthful, vibrant wines captivates the senses with expressive fruit character.

The two levels allow wine to flow from the tanks to the barrels by a traditional gravity transfer system. The four wines converge in a circular central chamber.which resembles an amphitheater and was inspired by ancient classical temples. Read less
