Dark red, almost black wine, with great aromatic depth, and touches of red fruit marmalade, grilled red pepper, and vanilla, contributed by its long period of ageing in French oak barrels. It has a great structure, ripe sweet tannins, and a pleasant finish. It is a wine with a high concentration and intense sweetness in terms of aroma and mouth-feel. The concentration of this wine makes it an ideal match for seasoned hard cheese, pasta with elaborate sauces or important and complex dishes of spiced red meat.
