Very complex and intriguing nose, not as power packed as one would expect. A lot of fun to drink, the finish just a touch more tepid than it deserves.

Wine Advocate ReviewThe 2002 Roda Reserva is a blend of 9o% Tempranillo, 5% Garnacha, 5% Graciano. The color is medium ruby and the nose offers attractive aromas of earth, spice box, and blackberry. This is followed by an elegant if slightly dilute wine lacking in concentration. The red berry flavors are tasty and the wine is ready to drink now and over the next 4-6 years. Drink: 2007-2013.Wine Tasting notesDeep purple in color, the wine shows subtle, sweetly ripe black raspberry and strawberry aromas with musky, woodsy notes. The ripe tannins are silky yet powerful, ending in a lengthy, elegant and balanced finish.
The 2002 Roda I Reserva is 100% Tempranillo from vineyards said to provide more structure than the straight Reserva. This effort is a bit deeper in color and more expressive aromatically with scents of earth, smoke, spice and blackberry... Drink it now and over the next 6 years.
