Toasty and warm on the nose with spice, vanilla, milk chocolate and sandalwood tones on the nose over a bed of slightly musky red currant fruit. This is smooth on entry but with nice supporting acidity. The tannins are soft and fuzzy adding volume in the mouth while softening the clarity of the fruit a bit. The mid-palate shows plenty of red currant fruit, a touch of red apple skins, and some spicy pomegranate seed notes all laid over a bed of slightly creamy mink chocolate and toasty oak. The finish shows the structure again, revealing some uncovered acid and tannins yet the fruit does hand=g on for a reasonable length of time reemerging on the finale with nice clarity. This is just what I would expect from a good Crianza. 87pts
Rather refined oak notes on the nose with hints of blond tobacco, cedar and vanilla cutting through some red berry fruit with a touch of a white pepper top note. This is a touch soft on entry, rich but neither broad nor tall in the mouth. The fruit is a bit dark for Rioja Crianza, almost plummy with an inky blue fruit character and full load of spicy wood tannins on the back end. The finishes is rather dense and powerful with licorice and toast notes, even a little coconut lingering on the palate. The tannins are minor but drying and the acid sticks out on the bitter finale. 84pts

A bit of medicinal cherry and wood on the nose and a bit musty. A full-flavored wine that's a bit bitter, would be nice with some salty meat, like prosciutto.
Cherries and oak on the nose. I was expecting more fruit on the tongue, but turns out it had a heavier oaky and medicinal palate with a bit of tart on the finish.
