Bodegas Riojanas Rioja Vina Albina Reserva 2009

Winemaker's Notes:

90 points Josh Raynolds (Vinous): Ruby-red. Smoky, oak-spiced cherry and redcurrant on the nose, with deeper licorice and dark chocolate nuances emerging as the wine opens with air. Sweet and focused on the mouth, offering cherry-vanilla and chewing tobacco flavors plus a touch of cracked pepper. Soft tannins blend smoothly with, and lend shape to, the wine's ripe fruit. Finishes spicy and persistent, with an echo of smokiness. This wine spent two years in American oak prior to bottling. Drink: 2018-2023. (Nov 2015)
