Food Pairings for Bodegas Pinord Red Bordeaux Blend Penedès Reserva Chateldon
The history of Bodegas Pinord can be traced back to the time when, over one hundred and fifty years ago, the Tetas family began making white and red wines on their estate in Sant Cugat Sesgarrigues in the Penedés region of north east Spain from grapes they themselves had grown. This wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon, with a small amount of Merlot, from Bodegas Pinord's own vineyards around L'Ermita de Muntanyans in the Alt Penedès. This wine was aged in oak casks for 14 months. It was then bottled and kept in the bottle for one year. Its is deep red in colour with violet undertones; clear and brilliant. It holds intense aromas of raisins and jams with slight traces of oak. If you swirl the glass round, more varietal aromas and spicy notes will appear. It currently shows a gentle palate with moderate ageing. The ageing provides the good balance and its notes of preserved fruit and raisins.
