RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.
Food Pairings for Bodegas Pinord Priorat 7
The best wine I've had all year. A big, bold, earthy, oakey Priorat. A sensation on the nose with earth and chocolate notes coming through. Very dense fruit on the palate with a wonderful balance of minerality and oak with a long, long, lingering finish. Get it.
I HAD THIS WINE ON NEW YEARS EVE NEAR MIAMI AT A SPANISH PLACE. IT WAS FABULOUS, BUT HARD TO FIND THRU DISTRIBUTION. THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST WINES (FOR MY TASTE) THAT I HAVE EVER HAD, AND THE FIRST PRIORAT. PRIORAT WINES ARE KNOWN FOR A MINERAL (NICKLE HINT) IN THE FINISH, BUT WE DID NOT SENSE THAT. THE WINE IS VERY DARK, AND WILL STAIN A GLASS IS YOU LEAVE IT OVER NIGHT.

GOLD MEDAL - Decanter World Wine Awards The story of Bodegas Pinord started more than 150 years ago, when the Tetas family began to make wines on their estate in Penedes. They have now extended their family expertise to the heartland of Priorat, renowned for producing bespoke cult wines. Their Mas Blanc estate lies on steep slately slopes, where the grapes are organically grown and hand harvesting is obligatory. A variety of different grapes are grown here, all benefiting from the night and day temperature variances which allows them to achieve great complexity. The winery is kitted out with all of the newest vinification equipment along with 250 new French, American and Bulgarian oak barriques. Grapes : 50% Garnacha, 20% Syrah, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon Region : Spain / Priorat Maker : José Maria Tetas Notes : Dark ruby red , dense blackfruit and chocolate on the nose, full bodied, well balanced and very silky with a long rich finish. Serve : At room temperature with red meat, roasts or cheese. ABV : 14.5% Suitable for Vegetarians
Bodegas Pinord is a family business which was founded 150 years ago. The Penedés district is situated between Barcelona and Tarragona, with the mountains of Montserrat marking the border in the north and the Mediterranean in the South. The soil is varied, contrasting from chalky clay to sandstone with distinct differences in depth so that the vines may take root. The mild Mediterranean climate is ideal for growing vines, indeed there is evidence that the Romans planted vineyards here. The slightly wetter weather in the valleys means that there is non need for irrigation.
