A classic mourvedre. Color is deep red with some purple tones. On the nose without decanting has strong aroma of sweet tobacco with hints of dust or forest, shoe leather, and vanilla spice. On the palate a bit light bodied with underripe red berries (strawberry?), noticeable underlying minerality, and some earth with a hint of chocolate. As it breathed over time developed more ripe, sweet berries and cherries and kept the dust and forest. Still needs to be a bit fuller in the mid-palate. Medium plus acids and tannic without "burning" the tongue. Short finish. This wine might go well with a savory-sweet combination, for example prosciutto wrapped around some dried fig and a light, savory herbal sauce.
