Spicy and interesting
Well balanced, but light bodied, nice soft tannin aftertaste. I would rate it between 2-4, depending on the mood: for soft spiced pork meals, it fits perfectly. but for a robust sirloin would be too weak. Nice for a summer light appetizer

The 2002 Old Vines Gran Reserva is deep crimson-colored with some tertiary aromas from bottle age. Spice box, leather, tobacco, and black cherry scents are very attractive and lead to a silky-textured wine with mature flavors and a pure finish. Drink this elegant effort over the next four years.
This full-bodied wine has a dark cherry red color, with ruby red and bluish shimmer. Aromas of mature fruit like plum, blackberry and jam are in prefect harmony with varied spicy notes of natural licorice, vanilla, cacao and cinnamon. Smooth toasts of French and American oak contribute to the palate, which shows an excellent balance of fruit, alcohol, acidity and tannins. A complex and round wine, Old Vines Reserva has a long, pleasant finish.
