A remarkable find; here is a 2000 Gran Reserva from Spain that’s one of the best values we’ve ever seen. Made from 100% Tempranillo in the Valdepenas which means Valley of Stones. The rocky soils provide good drainage for the roots to go deep keeping yields low. Meanwhile the stones also warm the vines providing good steady ripening and intense flavors. Aged two full years in French and American oak casks by award-winnig winemaker Javier Muñóz for a supple approachability that is simply unheard of in an off-the-shelf bottle of wine. Put away your aerators and flavor enhancers, this wine is ready to go right out of the bottle. Very Limited!
