Dark, almost black, in color with streaks of midnight blue. Notes of black cherry, dark bitter chocolate and freshly ground coffee with a slight veil of vanilla that appears right at the end bouquet, is intoxicating. Viscous and dense in the mouth, with firm tannins, big acidity and lots of oak, it's immediately clear that this wine needs amble time to open and develop. Rich, spicy on the palate, while bursting with dark cherry and charcoal flavors, make sure you decant this well before you intend to drink it. This is a big wine that needs a lot of patience to experience its full glory!

Elegant and rustic if that's possible. Nose with hints of barnyard and sweet spice. In the mouth ripe sour red cherry and berry, spice, pepper. Finish of same. Medium body, medium acid, medium tannin.

This 2004 Tempranillo from Rioja, Spain is very good. Deep ruby color with a mid to tight rim variation. Fruit notes of black cherry and plum with a hint of licorice. It has a long finish on the palette with low acidity. This wine is in its peak (2011 - 2016). Best served chilled to 62 degrees, double decanted, and served with a chicken & choriso paella.

Nose with Mokka, Plum, Cherry and some Blackforest smoked ham. On the palate the Tannins are still dominant and there is a lack of fruit in relation to the oak. Already a great wine, but some more years are necessary to perfection.

I didn't like this wine as much as I expected I would - to me it seemed "hot" - too alcoholic and not as smooth as I would expect from this area - perhaps too young to drink just now?

Aromen von dunkler, schöner Frucht, Noten von Bitterschokolade. Im Geschmack feine Säure, satte Struktur. Im Abgang Geschmack von feinem Holz.

Tiefdunkles Rot mit schwarzem Kern. Dunkles, komplexes Bouquet mit Noten von getrockneten Früchten, Kräuter, Leder, Tabak, Rauch und etwas Stahl. Sehr dicht gewobene Struktur, kernige noch etwas trockene Gerbstoffe, kühl wirkend, lang anhaltend!

Toast and cola notes frame rich plum and fig flavors in this concentrated red, which is bright and polished, though theres depth under the muscular tannins. Impressive in the modern style. Best from 2011 through 2021. 1,000 cases imported. -TM Wine Spectator. A Tempranillo wine from Rioja in Spain. 2006 Muga Rioja Torre Muga 750ml

Weingut: Bodegas MugaRegion: RiojaRebsorte: 75% Tempranillo, 15% Mazuelo, 10% GracianoInhalt: 0,75 lAlkoholgehalt: 14 Vol.%Lagerfähigkeit: 10 - 15 Jahre ab Jahrgang Fassreife: 18 Monate in Barriques gereiftEmpfohlene Serviertemperatur: 16-18°C Rotwein > Spanien > Rioja

The 2005 Torre Muga is composed of 75% Tempranillo, 15% Mazuelo, and 10% Graciano. Purple-colored and made in a more international style, it presents a brooding bouquet of pain grille, mineral, scorched earth, incense, and blackberry. Massive on the palate, the wine has tons of material, great density, and 6-8 years of cellaring potential. This packed and stacked effort will have a drinking window extending from 2017 to 2045. (75% tempranillo, 15% mazuelo and 10% graciano) Vivid ruby. Exotic aromas of raspberry and blackberry preserves, cherry-vanilla, cola, incense and potpourri. Weighty, creamy red and dark berry flavors are sweetened by vanillin oak and enlivened by pepper and spice qualities. The dark berry notes build with air and carry through the long, sweet finish. Very exotic stuff; give it a few years of bottle aging to let the oak and fruit harmonize. Racy and vivid, this modern red brims with black raspberry and blueberry fruit, backed by spicy oak, with cinnamon and mineral accents. The velvety texture is framed by well-integrated tannins. Drink now through 2018. 2,000 cases imported. -TM
