Bodegas Valdemar is a family company whose roots date back to 1889. Jesús Martínez Bujanda, the owner, started its construction in 1982. Its modern facilities and innovative winemaking methods have been its trademark features from the outset. Bodegas Valdemar has become a point of reference in Rioja wines, for its know-how of a long winemaking tradition combined with a constant, ongoing commitment to research and investigate in order always to achieve the finest quality in its wines. This Reserva wine has complex aromas of stewed black berries with spicy touches of black pepper and mineral notes. This has a potent and fleshy palate of ripe fruits and oak. Long and persistent finish. This special wine shows spicy aromas of black pepper and ripe fruit notes on the nose. Round and full-bodied, there is a good balance between the fruit notes and the oak. It has a long finish of ripe red fruit.

This Gran Reserva Rioja wine was aged for a good 6 years before releasing for sale. This slow process is invaluable and results in a delicacy of fruit that is just mildly evolved. Made mostly from Tempranillo with the remainder Mazuelo. A powerful red wine that will match well with meat-based cuisine.
