Sourced from two unique vineyards, this full-bodied blend of Monastrell, Cabernet and Tempranillo has tremendous saturation of color, round rich flavors of ripe plums, blackberries and cassis with balanced notes of warm spices. The integrated tannins and long, well developed finish are the culmination of gifted winemaking and 12 months of careful aging in French and American barrels.

The 2009 Luzon Verde was produced from organically grown grapes and is 100% Monastrell from 15- to 35-year-old vines. Dark ruby-colored, the nose offers up earth, spice, underbrush, and blueberry. Ripe, sweetly-fruited, and firm, it will deliver pleasure over the next 4 years. (100% organically grown monastrell) Inky ruby. Vibrant aromas and flavors of black raspberry, spicecake and black pepper. Very complex for the money. Brisk, focused dark fruit flavors linger on the finish, which repeats the peppery note and shows a hint of heat. This is a real value.

Broad and deep, showing sweet black raspberry and blueberry flavors, a velvety texture and bright mineral snap. Nicely blends richness and energy and finishes with lingering sweetness and supple, even tannins. This is delicious right now.

The 2009 Altos de Luzon is a blend of 35- to 45-year-old Monastrell, Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon from vineyards planted at 650 meters altitude fermented with wild yeast, and aged for 12 months in barrel. It’s a minty blend, showing some age, tertiary notes of leather, cedar wood and a polished palate. The Cabernet marks the blend, giving the impression more of a Mediterranean Bordeaux, but unfortunately the varnished oak character of the wine stays at the forefront. 150.000 bottles produced. Drink 2013–2015.
