Bodegas Lopez De Heredia Tondonia Reserva Blanco 1993

Winemaker's Notes:

93 points Josh Raynolds (International Wine Cellar): (90% viura and 10% malvasia): Light, bright gold. High-pitched aromas of lemon rind and pear are given depth by smoky lees and honey nuances. Rich and full but almost shockingly dry, offering sappy orchard fruit and bitter citrus flavors and a touch of chamomile. A bright mineral quality adds bite to the very long, smoky finish. This is showing uncanny energy for its age. (Sep/Oct 2011)

A white that is pleasantly mildly oxidative. A highly aromatic wine, with baked apricot and hazelnuts, dead yeast lees rounding off to a finish of tangy caramel on the ever evolving palate. Pairs exceptionally wel with buttery scrambled eggs and sautéed oyster mushrooms, prawns and young garlic, or cod croquettes.
