During Roman times, Licinia was the name of the town of Morata located southeast of Madrid.Today, Bodegas Licinia is a wine made by three visionaries: winemaker Olga Fernandez, andviticulturists Victor and Jose Ramon Lissarrague. The objective is to make small productionbiodynamic wine that represents the terruno or terroir. The vineyards, at an elevation of 2,100feet, are planted to clay and limestone soil. Sixty-seven acres are divided into four differentparcels: Tempranillo, Syrah, Cabernet and Merlot. The debut 2006 vintage was rated "BestRed Wine of Spain by Enoforum.
